PRODUCTION

Having several leadership roles in college, I decided to started exploring the waters of production in my immersion semester at the Entertainment Technology Center, in which I primarily organized meetings with multidisciplinary team members and checked in with team members on an individual basis. That led to my first and current academic project production, in which I am utilizing production principles to make decisions about scope and directions, continuing to foster communication between team members, and with faculties, and making periodic development blog posts.

Interactive Academy

Semester Long Academic Project

Interactive Academy, in partnership with the minds behind Inanimate Alice, is setting out to explore how education can be delivered on the digital frontier. How can a textbook be fun, engaging, and interactive while still providing the knowledge necessary for students to learn and grow?

To this end, Interactive Academy is focusing on a highly interactive experience for middle school students that sparks interest in STEAM subjects. Combining this approach while leveraging lessons from the educators on the Inanimate Alice team, Interactive Academy aims to create a prototype for developers and educators that utilizes digital media to enhance educational experiences.

Commit 2 the Bits

Semester Long Academic Project

Commit 2 the Bits is a discovery project that explores the intersection of improvisational theater and Twitch live streaming. We seek to incorporate the rhythms of a full improv show into the Twitch context, including transitions between games, creating a sense of communal laughter among viewers despite the distance between actors and the audience, and helping teams practice the new skills needed to succeed at improv online. Building on the success of Commit to the Bits in Spring 2019, we built successful online shows. The project is expecting a continuation in the future.

Building Virtual Worlds

September - December 2019

A class where multidisciplinary teams of 1-2 programmers, 2 artists and 1 sound designer work in two week cycles to create unique experiences. When I was producer, I (with the co-producer sometimes) scheduled meetings between team members as well as office hours in order to brainstorm for ideas. I also did individual check-in with my group members from time to time. I compiled, communicated and sent out comments received from our peers to our team.
